The Media Industries Strategy Project (MISP) had their annual conference at UNM on February 2nd, with over 300 people in attendance. The lectures and discussion sessions focused on the growth of New Mexico's new digital media industry. Barry Weiss from Sony Imageworks gave the key-note address.
AGL faculty Pradeep Sen is teaching a new course this semester called "Real-time Rendering and Graphics Hardware." This unique course will focus on various aspects of real-time rendering, from the algorithms to the hardware. The course webpage can be found here.
The UNM Advanced Graphics Lab and the University of New Mexico have been invited to join the IPAX program from Sony Imageworks. The goal of the program is to establish a relationship between UNM and Sony Imageworks in order to build a curriculum that gives students real-world experience in digital media.
The UNM Advanced Graphics Lab welcomes two new faculty members to the group of researchers. Pradeep Sen is a new assistant professor in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering with interests in real-time rendering, global illumination algortithms and computational photography. Joe Kniss is a visiting professor in the Department of Computer Science with interests in interactive visualization and medical imaging.
The University of New Mexico is proud to announce the new Advanced Graphics Lab which will pursue technical research into the algorithms and mathematics of computer graphics, visualization and imaging.
